Valentine Cookies From Heart To Heart
As the Love days coming along I feel it is time for a little sweetness. So I found this easy recipe in my old Greek cookbooks and I thought it would be fun to share it.
You will need:
1 Cup Butter
10 Tbl spoons Sugar
1 Cup Flour
3 Tbl spoons Semolina
2 Egg yolks
2 Teaspoons Vanilla
1/2 Salt
1/2 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/2 Teaspoon Nutmeg
Some Strawberry Jelly
A good mood and a dash of love.
Mix butter, sugar, egg yolks and vanilla. Add flour, semolina, salt and spices and make the dough.
On a smooth surface open the dough and use a heart shaped cookie cutter to create 24 big hearts.
Take the 12 hearts and with a smaller size cookie cutter cut them in a way that you keep the exterior part of the cut heart and you stick it on the surface of the other 12 big hearts. Dash the cookies with some crystallized sugar and fill the inner part of the heart with strawberry jelly.
Bake at 350F for 20 min. and let them cool on a rack.
The final touch before serving: Add your love!
