Contemporary Bedroom With A Twist

When my client K. and I decided to transform her bedroom from traditional to something fresh with cleaner lines, we felt the urge to keep the old bench, a traditional piece with a sense of whimsy. We thought the character of the piece would give a personal touch to the room and a feel of "movement" that was missing from the rest of the furniture lines.
The result: A very restful and inviting room,  harmoniously put together with brightness and order--characteristic of its owner. The playfulness of the bench was exactly what was needed to make this room personal, interesting and definitely unique!

It is time to give THANKS!

It was author Lynne Twist who said... "We're not grateful because we're happy, we're happy because we are grateful."

At Thanksgiving more than ever, our thoughts turn gratefully to those who have made our progress possible. And in this spirit we say, simply but sincerely, Thank You and Best Wishes ... May your Thanksgiving be Blessed.

Happy Socks

Happy socks make me happy and belong to the list of my "favorite things". I just discovered this line of happy socks that truly can make my day. The color combination is just so playful and I love their vibrant hues. See how they make  feet jump, dance, fly?
I can choose any of them and have fun step by step!

The Gentle Art of Blessing.

"How do you stay spiritually centered in the middle of a noisy street or in smoke filled restaurant? In a packed subway with a drunkard shouting incoherently at you? How do you keep your spiritual poise during a transatlantic flight with the baby in the seat behind you crying its heart out? How do you keep your calm when someone insults you without reason?or where a careless driver slams into the side of your new car? How does one feel love rather than pity in a refuge camp with hundreds of starving children pulling at your clothes? Or when the TV news bursts into your living room with pictures of the latest massacre on the other side of the globe? Or one of the dictator pours insult and abuse on your country?"

I was blessed to attend a gathering with Pierre Pradervand this past weekend and oh! what experience that was! I was entreated by his calm, loving voice, his humble sharing, his steady answers on all life's "how's". And of course I felt completely inspired by his powerful yet simple message: Just bless all and everything! His book "The Gentle Art of Blessing" is a book that should be in every library and a gift shared with everyone you know.

"This book attempts to show that "spirituality" is not a concept to be debated abstractly, but a transforming power that has meaning only if it is lived daily."

Staging Sells!

There is no doubt in my mind that staging sells fast or at least faster than another empty house.
I had so much fun transforming this empty 1.6 million house into home in less than a week. The biggest challenge was to find the right available items in a few days and fill the three huge built-in bookcases. The space was quite big and literally "absorbed" tons of accessories.  Gratefully, it didn't only turn out beautiful, but it actually sold in 17 days!

George Denninger: Insprational Art

I so much enjoy George Denninger's digital Inspirational Art. I can just watch one piece for hours. Great work!

Face to Face
Recognize the source of all good as your own and you will see this likeness reflected face to face.

Childhood Gift
Gifts from children, in what ever form, are always acceptable

Big Puff Theory
Perhaps the origin of our universe is more gentle than first speculated. Our sense of Mind naturally expands with understanding.

Behold the Lilies
In all of my paintings, parts of the image are cropped off the page. This is to signify that there is more than meets the eye, a bigger scene or idea behind it. The lily seems out of place and unsustainable in this hostile environment, yet there it is, glorious without limits!

First Beams
Different people are at different stages in their spiritual growth. Here I represent some of those stages as individuals seeing light through a mist and reacting to this light in different ways.

April Cornell: Naturally Beautiful Linens

I use to work for Cornell Trading years ago and I had the opportunity to get closer to the many faces of April Cornell: The Designer, the Artist, the Business woman, the Writer, the Leader, the Giver. April, a great example in all those identities, has always been inspired by the beauty of nature and her designs are fresh and authentic. I admire April how she knows to add a dash of beauty even in the most simple things.
As a designer myself, I learned great lessons just by watching her: To dare using color-lots of color, dare to mix patterns and dare to be yourself!
